Jyoti Kumari, a young girl from Bihar, who got recognition from all over the world after she cycled her injured father covering a distance of 1200 km from Gurugram to her village in Darbhanga, Bihar during the Coronavirus lockdown is now ready to be featured in her own biopic named “Aaatmanirbhar”. She will play the role of a protagonist and the film will be based entirely on her journey. The actor who will play her father is yet not finalized. Under the direction of Shine Krishna, the film is said to be bannered under “Wemakefilmz”.

The shooting scheduled to be done at different locations in Gurugram and her village in Darbhanga. The film will be made in Hindi, English and Maithili and will be dubbed in other different languages as well, for a better reach among the audiences. This film will not just be a tale of Jyoti but open many loopholes of the system in which we are living in. For viewers from different parts of the world, the title will be “A Journey of a Migrant” and will include subtitles in 20 different languages.

“Bahut achha lag raha hai (I feel very good),” said Jyoti in an interview with PTI on being signed as a protagonist in the film. Kumari said that she’s happy as she is getting recognition but she did not do all this with an aim of getting popularity. All she did was because her poor father was injured and after the imposition of the lockdown, they had no option left, but to return back to their village. She told further to the PTI.

In the month of January when Jyoti’s father an E-Rikshaw driver got injured, she moved from her village in Darbhanga to Gurugram to take care of him but after the lockdown came in force their landlord gave them an ultimatum to either clear off the rental charges or vacate amid the pandemic. It was then she decided to cycle back her old father.

The story of Jyoti has touched many hearts. From big Businessmen to known Politicians. She was praised by Ivanka Trump as she took to Twitter and said, “Beautiful feat of endurance and love.”
