The 37-year-old journalist, Tarun Sisodia who was admitted at AIIMS after testing COVID-19 positive, was suffering from a brain tumor and depression, according to his friends. He was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre on 24 June. Tarun was admitted on the first floor but he died after falling from the fourth floor. Many questions lead the people to doubt his intention of suicide like if Sisodia broke the glass by going to the fourth floor and committed suicide then why the security guards or the hospital staff could not stop him?

One of Sisodia’s friends said, there are many questions that remain unanswered like, why was he shifted to the fourth floor at AIIMS? why was nobody around him at the time of the incident? How could he break the glass of the window? He was not on oxygen support for the last five days, then why was he not shifted to the general ward? why and on whose instruction was his mobile taken away? Why did he fear murder and whom he feared?

Tarun`s family is accusing the AIIMS administration of negligence and accusing them of not providing information regularly about Tarun`s health. In this case, some screenshots are viral on social media. It is being claimed that the screenshots are of journalist Tarun Sisodia, in which he is anticipating his killing.

However, AIIMS in its statement over the death of the journalist has claimed that he was “having bouts of disorientation” for which he was seen by a neurologist and psychiatrist and put on medication.

Union Health Minister orders probe into Tarun Sisodia death
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan ordered AIIMS director to “immediately” constitute an official inquiry into this incident, following which a high-level committee has been set up. The committee shall submit its report within 48 hours, Harsh Vardhan said. Further, he said, that this is an internal inquiry, with committee members from within AIIMS itself.

The inquiry committee consists of Chief of Neuroscience Centre Prof Padma, Head of Psychiatry Dept Prof RK Chaddha, Deputy Director (Admin) SH Panda, and Head of Physical Medicine and Rehab Dr. U Singh.

“Deeply shocked & saddened by the death of young journalist Shri Tarun Sisodia Ji. It was a most unfortunate incident. I have no words to express my grief. My condolences to his whole family, especially his wife & young children May God give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Harsh Vardhan said in a tweet.

“I ordered AIIMS Director to immediately constitute an official inquiry into this incident, following which a high-level committee has been set up & shall submit its report within 48 hours,” the union minister added.
