“Eleven organizations are set to manufacture military equipment — hand grenades, unmanned aerial motors (UAVs) and conversation elements — at the Aligarh node of the defence-industrial corridor in UP”, extra chief secretary Awanish Awasthi stated on Monday. The task ought to get off the ground by way of November this year.
On Monday, Additional Chief Secretary, Home and PAO CEO Avnish Awasthi accompanied a five-member team for physical inspection of the Defense Corridor, which is going to be developed in Andala area of Khair. There he checked the land and asked the farmers who gave land for the corridor.
Given the enthusiasm of the investors, he has agreed to expand the corridor to 250 acres in future. Meanwhile, 11 investors also decided that they would invest Rs 400 crore here.
Avnish Awasthi has given instructions to the administration to do electricity, road and sewerage work in the first phase on 46 hectares of identified land. Apart from this, the matter of acquisition of 10 hectares of land is pending. He is asked to solve it soon. Many government departments have been assigned responsibilities based on their functioning. He said that the foundation stone of the corridor will be laid soon.
