There is big news for many of the passengers who use Delhi Metro for their daily travelling, after the renewal of Delhi metro operations, the passenger will not be allowed to travel with any metallic item on their body. If there is one then the passenger is advised to take that out before examination and put that in their bags which will be scanned through an x-ray machine, everyone has to use face masks, and should have the ‘Aarogya Setu’ app installed actively in their phones as a pass. People having flu-like symptoms won’t be allowed, as per the proposal prepared by the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) on Thursday.
A ‘business continuity plan’ has also been formulated for the security and safety of passengers and staff workers working at the facility by the paramilitary force that guards the network running across the national capital region.
The suggested measures will be implemented by the force “in consultation” with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and its controlling ministry of Urban Development, as per the plan accessed by PTI.
This plan has been drawn up to secure “public faith in the capacity of the high- speed rail network to deliver under whichever circumstances and to thwart evil designs of disruptive forces to hit the smooth functioning of the network”, said a CISF official.
There will be about 12,000 men and women personnel to guard above 160 metro stations, the services of the rail network would be resumed in a phased manner, following the plan intended by the force.
According to the plan “Aarogya Setu app with inbuilt e-pass feature could be employed for recognition of the suspicious threat (having COVID-19 infection). People who might have high risks of infection for both proliferation as well as contracting would be dejected from using the metro.
People who would be entering the metro premises will be compulsorily wearing masks. The entrance points will be provided with the Hand sanitization or washing facility. There will be thermal screening at all the entrance points of stations and those recorded with unusual temperatures, cold, cough and other kinds of flu will not be allowed to go further.
The Director-General (DG) of CISF, Rajesh Ranjan told the news agency that the plan has been prepared to keep in mind that the “speed, safety and security” of the passengers, force personnel, DMRC staffers and others present in the area is ensured.
Harsh distancing standards will be followed during the security screening point where at least two meters of distance would be maintained between the security screening and line up points amongst the passengers waiting at the screening point. In case there will be any suspected passenger or baggage for that to handle, the CISF proposes to keep at least two personal protective equipment (PPE) suits at all metro stations and four PPE suits as standby.
CISF personnel will wear regular uniforms with sleeves fully covered, gloves along with masks covering nose and mouth.”
The inconstant and x-ray baggage screeners are advised to wear a face shield or visor to safeguard their face additionally and more importantly eyes from exposure.
There is also a proposal to intensify electronic and manual surveillance on all activities within the metro premises, to prevent metro stations from sinful elements and to avoid any undue advantage of the COVID-19 situation to rupture the counter-terror security sheath of the force.
The regular announcements will be made to advise the passengers to maintain social distancing and to abstain from regular touching of any surface inside the metro station or train premises.
The CISF has also asked the DMRC to locate sufficient staff at paid areas to maintain COVID-19 protocols that include areas of automated fare collection gates and platforms.
There is also a proposal to sanitize the entire station area with chemicals and security fixtures, equipment, and x-ray tables every 30 minutes.
A senior official has said, the CISF has the largest public alliance among all the other forces like at airports and Delhi Metro.
The job of CISF officials is more at risk than any other, as they frequently come in contact with so many people due to their security check. So it is our duty too to safeguard ourselves so that we can not cause any harm to the others and as they say “Self-care is the best care”.
