As if the mysterious COVID-19 virus was not enough for the world to go crazy, a mysterious meteorite-like object falls from the sky in Sanchore town of Rajasthan’s Jalore district at 7 am on Friday, creating a 1-foot deep crater.

The object fell with an explosive sound and was hot. The locals woke up by the sound of it and preassumed it to be an aeroplane or bomb.

“There was a massive sound in the morning when the object fell from the sky — it was as if an aeroplane had crashed. However, no one could spot what had fallen. It was only after some time that the object was noticed in a one-foot-deep pit in the ground. It had fallen about 100 meters from my house. We immediately informed local authorities,” says Ajmal Devasi, a local.

The locals informed the local administration and police after it fell. As it was emitting heat, the administrators asked the locals to stay away from it. After it cooled down, they weighed it and found it to have 2.8 kg weight. Police said it is kept safe and will be sent to Delhi for further research.

A local jeweler in the presence of the administration examined it and claimed it to have metallic properties of Germanium, Platinium, Nickel, and Iron in a major share.

Whatever the object is, the investigation should be conducted as soon as possible and researchers should also examine whether there are chances of something like this to fall again in the future.
