Movies that got snubbed in Oscars 2022

Which films aren't nominated for an Academy Award this year? Let's take a look at the Academy Awards' biggest snubs in 2022!

Whenever there are Oscars around, people debate a lot about who should win. But what people also talk about is the Oscars snubs. With enough talks about the Oscar wins, let’s now talk about the oscar snubs.

1. Red Rocket

We’re really disappointed that this film didn’t make it. It’s one of our favourite watches from 2021, and seeing it get passed over made us realise that the Academy seems to have a particular vendetta against A24. Every year, a large number of movies are overlooked. In this story of an American hustler and a hometown that barely tolerates him, Mikey Saber, a charismatic con man and washed-up porn star, plots his return to the big time from small-town Texas.

2. Annette

Henry is a stand-up comedian with a sharp wit who falls in love with Ann, a world-famous opera singer. They make a passionate and gorgeous couple in front of the camera. Their lives are flipped upside down with the arrival of their first child, a strange little girl with an extraordinary destiny. Annette, unlike other musicals, did not make the Oscar cut. This film is an experience in and of itself; it is delightfully attractive, beautifully written, and full of emotions; it encourages you to immerse yourself in the film and the music and, like magic, makes you forget about everything else.

3. Titane

A woman with a titanium plate in her headset out on a strange quest involving her automotive fetish. Titane demonstrates that it is not ghosts or evil spirits that make a film “horror.” Titane is a strange but fantastic film. The experimental thriller is worth a journey, as strange as it may sound.

4. The Last Duel

This was Ridley Scott’s second film of the year, the first being ‘House of Gucci.’ The Last Duel was never given the recognition it deserved. Not only does it have a superb cast, but it also has a fantastic screenplay. Furthermore, who doesn’t enjoy periodic dramas?

5. A Hero

You’ve almost certainly heard of this Iranian hero. His films “The Salesman” and “A Separation” were both nominated for Academy Awards, and both won. A Hero tells the story of Rahim, who puts his life on the line when his debt exceeds his ability to pay. What follows is a tale of complete disasters, in which Farhadi once again demonstrates why he is in a class by himself.

6. Last Night in Soho

Edgar Wright gave us one of the best 2021 films, yet we still don’t speak about it enough. Everything about this psychological thriller is spot on, from the superb acting to the breathtaking graphics to the glamorous 1960s clothes. With its vivid colours, suspense, and fantastic music score, the narrative of a teenager infatuated with hopes of being a fashion designer, played by Anya Taylor Joy, is intriguing.

7. The Green Knight

Will Dev Patel ever be fully appreciated? The direction, cinematography, story adaptation, music score, and acting all combine to create this work of art. The Green Knight is a visual feast, and like wine, it improves with age, as does our knowledge of it, but it wasn’t excellent enough to get an Oscar nomination.

8. Petite Maman

You’ve probably heard of Portrait of a Lady on Fire, but what about Mama Petite? Celine Sciamma, the same director, has created another masterpiece. Petite Maman is both beautiful and powerful, and it tells a story about loss, loneliness, childhood, memories, and connection with only a few performers. You must see this film since it is one of the best, even though it was not nominated for an Academy Award.

9. C’mon C’mon

What you’re really saying is that Johnny, Jesse, and their lovely relationship didn’t deserve to be nominated at all. C’mon, a simple yet sweetly relaxing picture delivered entirely through dialogues, life lessons, and small glimpses into the curious minds of children deserve every ounce of praise, which is why it easily tops the Oscar snub list without a doubt.
