Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Man ki Baat on Sunday,30 August, highlighted the importance and need for working towards developing the Indian Toy industry.

He appealed to Indians to come forward and work to increase our global market share in the toy industry. He said the worldwide toy industry is over Rs 7 trillion. Yet, India’s offer is minimal, as he worried about the need to expand it. He called business people to ‘collaborate for toys’ and said the time has come to get vocal for nearby toys.

 He stated that our country needs computer games too, that is Indian centric. He said -“Both young and old play them. But most of the games are influenced by the West. We should have India-centric games. We can be ‘Aatma Nirbhar’ in this regard.”

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stressed the importance of toys for children’s development. “Toys can be used to build minds. Even Rabindranath Tagore has spoken about the importance of toys,” PM Modi said.
