The actress alleged of the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder, Rhea Chakraborty, revealed about his mental illness to India Today. In an interview with anchor Rajdeep Sardesai, she told about what shocking things had happened when the couple went on a Europe trip in October last year. Rhea said that she had come to realise about his mental illness during the Europe trip only. She also claimed that she had no lust for Sushant’s money, it was he who wanted to live life lavishly.
She further added, “I was taken aback aboard the flight to Paris last year when I saw Sushant taking a medicine, Modafinil, without being prescribed”, because he felt little claustrophobic in flights”. “When we landed in Paris and reached our place of stay, he had locked himself in the room and didn’t come out for straight three days. Before the start of the trip, he seemed very happy and expressed to me that he would talk to me while walking down the streets which weren’t that possible in India”, said Rhea. But I was left shocked to see the other side of him on that trip as I realised he was suffering from some mental disorder which he had never spoken about.
Rhea pointedly revealed that his condition started to deteriorate when they zeroed in to stay at Gothic Hotel in Italy. There was a dome-like structure in the room which the actress said that she didn’t like at all as it seemed very obnoxious. “I insisted him on changing the hotel at first but he denied. Later when he burst into numerous panic attacks, he said to me that there was something bad which caused this to him. I was sure from the point of stepping into the room that it was not worth staying. When I enquired him, he confessed that back in 2013 he had undergone a depression phase and then met a psychiatrist, Haresh Shetty. He told me that he was advised by the same person to take Modafinil as SOS dose. His condition had no hope of coming to normal after that episode, we had to leave the trip there and return”, claimed Rhea.
Rhea’s brother Showil Chakraborty also accompanied the couple on that trip. The actress went ahead saying that “all three of us shared a deep bonding. In fact, we joked on Showik that he is my Sautan to Sushant. Together we had started a small startup ‘ Rhealityx’, named after me, which was to do with some artificial intelligence thing. Since Showik was preparing for CAT exams, so, he was being little sceptical in joining the startup as it might have hampered his studies. Initially, each person was to invest Rs 33000, so I paid for Showil also because he had no job then. It was Shushant who badly insisted Showik to join the Europe trip and eventually he couldn’t reject the offer as he was very close to Sushant”.
“People who are accusing me today of having lived on Sushant’s money, it is an absolutely false allegation. I had a fashion shoot by the clothing trip Shein in Paris. The company had booked me to and fro tickets, but Sushant cancelled those tickets and instead booked business class tickets for three of us after he got to know about the shoot in Paris. He said that there couldn’t be any better trip than that where we as a couple would accompany each other. I had no intention to steal his money. He spent his own money in whatever he wanted to as he loved living a king-size life”, said the actress on a closing note of the interview.
