Xiaomi launched its next-generation fitness band, Mi Band 5 on 11 June. The new fitness band comes with a bigger display, NFC support, colorful straps, and more impressive features.
What’s new in Mi Band 5 ??
Offered in 8 vibrant strap colors. Mi band 5 has a remarkable 1.1” AMOLED display surpassing the previous smart band by a 20% increase in display size. The standard or the non-NFC version of Mi Band 5 has been priced at CNY 189 (roughly Rs. 2,000), while the NFC variant of the fitness tracker will retail at CNY 229 (roughly Rs. 2,500).
Xiaomi claims that a full charge can last for 14 days of continuous usage. The smart band is also water-resistant up to 50 meters and comes in 2.5 D tempered glass for scratch aversion.
The band offers an uninterrupted Wireless charging dock. It has an inbuilt Personal Assessment Index (PAI) for better aid over workouts and exercises. This comes in 11 inbuilt sport modes, which makes it highly appealing to the workout freaks.
It also offers remote assistance to the camera via smartphone.
Women’s health tracking got easier with a dedicated health mode to track the menstrual cycle.
“New PPG heart rate sensor has enhanced accuracy up to 50%” claims Xiaomi. Sleep monitoring has increased precision as well.
Mi Band 5 comes with 100s of customizable themes along with special animated themes from hit TV series like Spongebob, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Detective Conan.
The band has multi-functional NFC features for door access, Alipay payments, and UnionPay payments on the go.
The Band has an inbuilt Xiao AI assistant for voice commands and offers a wide range of controls over smart IoT devices.
This is compatible with both iOS and Andriod devices.
The Mi Band 5 is starting its sale from 18th June in China. This product will be available internationally “Soon”, as per Officials.
