“Lockdown 4.0 is going to be different,” says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday, confirming another lockdown with ease and extensions. This time the lockdown will be different than the previous three.

The government, both state and the center have been working really hard in order to combat this novel coronavirus with all possible restrictions under the lockdown that began on the 25th of March.

Prime Minister while addressing the nation through the podcast “Mann Ki Baat” said, “Corona is here to stay, the experts say. But we cannot let our lives be controlled with Corona. We will have to live with it by taking all precautionary measures like wearing masks and practising social distancing. But we will not give up on our dreams.”

“Lockdown 4.0 will be imposed with slightly different rules and regulations based on suggestions by all the states. The new measures will be announced after the tenure of the lockdown 3.0, i.e on the 18th of May.” He added.

Points highlighted by PM Modi confirming Lockdown 4.0

1. Rs 20 lakh crore economic package: Emphasizing the importance on land, labour, liquidity, and law PM Modi announced a special economic package with total relief date amounting to this which makes up nearly 10% of India’s GDP.

This package will play an important role in facilitating India, making it self-reliant and reduce dependency on other countries. The name of this initiative will be Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.

 

2. Be Vocal for Local: PM Modi urged his citizens to just not use the local products but also promote them with pride as they have helped the country immensely in tackling the pandemic.

He even laid the emphasis on how local markets and manufacturing can be powerful tools, uplifting an economy.

 

3. “India turned the tragedy into opportunity”: PM Modi highlighting some positive aspects and revealed how India, which lagged in producing N-95 masks and PPE kits before the pandemic outbreak, now produces it in 2 lakhs each.

Adding to this he said that India is ahead in producing medicines than any other country which is another of its achievement.

 

4. Continue practising social-distancing: At last, before ending his speech, he requested all the citizens of India to continue the social distancing till further notice and abide by the rules and regulations that are imposed in the lockdown.
