Another morning, another ghastly accident

24 Migrant Workers Killed, Several Injured after the truck they were traveling in collided with another truck in Auraiya. The injured have been shifted to the hospital. They were coming from Rajasthan. After the incident, Yogi Adityanath’s government has ordered the suspension of two SHOs posted at Fatehpur Sikri, Agra and Kosi Kalan, Mathura.
A stern warning has been issued to respected ASP and DSP. Also, Mathura and Agra SSP and additional SSP, Agra ADG, and IG Agra Zone have been asked to submit a report on the incident. The government will lodge a case against both the truck owners, meanwhile, seizing orders for the truck has also been issued.
The UP government has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for families of deceased persons and Rs 50,000 for injured.
The accident took place in Mihauli in which 24 people died. A trailer truck carrying around 50 migrant labourers was coming from Rajasthan and it collided with a DCM truck. The accident took place on Saturday between 3.00 am and 3.30 am,” Circle Officer, Auraiya, Surendranath Yadav said.
“The DCM truck was coming from Delhi and heading towards Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. The trailer truck hit the DCM vehicle. Both the vehicles turned upside down after losing control,” he said.

Former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “Indescribable sadness on the death of over 24 poor migrant labourers in UP’s Auraiya. Prayers for the injured persons. Let’s see till when the silence maintained by heartless people and their supporters justify this negligence… despite knowing everything, and seeing everything. Such accidents are not deaths, but murder”.
“The news of the death of the migrant workers returning home is shocking. Basically, these are the people who used to run home. Therefore, the Samajwadi party will provide assistance of rupees 1 lakh to the family of each deceased in the state. Taking moral responsibility, the ruthless BJP government should also give a number of rupees 10 lakh per deceased person,” He said in a tweet in Hindi.

“The road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya is extremely tragic. The government is involved in relief work. I express my condolences to the families of those killed in this accident, as well as wish the injured a speedy recovery,” PM Modi tweeted in Hindi.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed their condolences.
