China releases 10 army personnels, followed by an intense militant arbitration

China releases 10 Indian soldiers held captive by PLA (People’s Liberation Army) on 15th June after an intense Major-General level diplomatic arbitration between Leh-based 3 Infantry Division commander Major General Abhijit Bapat and his PLA compeer on 18th June 2020.

 

A decree was lodged from the top brass that hinted towards a disarmed disengagement meeting held in the proposition for restoring normalcy between the two Asian giants.– as per Defence Ministry sources. 

 

In the light of the violent Galwan Valley face-off antecedent that led to the martyr of 20 soldiers by nail-studded logs, three days ago, a round of several Major-General negotiations was followed. The Chinese Military released 10 Indian personnels, that included two Captains, two Majors, and six Jawans from two units. They were released to Patrol Point 14 at 5:30 pm on Thursday. – as per Military sources.

 

The External Affairs Ministry S. Jaishankar’s mediator Anurag Srivastava iterated to the media about the clarification by the army on ‘no Indian troops missing in action’. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar also confirmed stating the military protocol on Thursday that all the captivated Indian soldiers were held accountable for being armed at the deadly jarring with the Chinese army at the Galwan Valley.

The high altitude border clash in Galwan Valley is the largest war of hand-to-hand encounter between the 2 militaries after their 1967 clashes in Nathu La where India misplaced around 80 soldiers, the loss of life toll at the Chinese aspect changed into over 300.
