In the wake of pandemic also there is no stopping in heinous crimes all over the country. After the nationwide protest in the Nirbhaya case yet there is still no law that can deter culprits. That Nirbhaya case led to huge protests and changes to the country’s rape laws, but there has been no sign of crimes against women and girls abating.
According to recent crime figures, every minute there is a rape victim in India. In an overwhelming number of rape cases, the victims know the perpetrators. In Hyderabad, a woman registered a complaint against several men who have raped her 5000 times for 10 long years.

The Hyderabad police have registered a case of rape and sexual assault against 139 persons in this regard. The names against whom FIR has been registered at Panjagutta police station include leaders from the left, student, doctors, people from the film fraternity and some anonymous. The 25-year-old also mentioned in her complaint that the men threatened to pour acid and petrol on her and kill her. In her complaint, the woman said that she was married off to one man from Miryalaguda in June 2009 and took divorce from him in the year 2010. Thereafter joined the college to complete her studies. She was also harassed and sexually assaulted by the husband’s family member. However, she claims, the sexual harassment did not stop after the divorce as several other people continued to sexually exploit her and make videos of her. She says she was gang-raped multiple times and later to forced to abort. She was allegedly drugged, burnt with cigarettes and made to dance nude, the FIR states. A medical investigation has been set up and a case under relevant IPC sections and under relevant provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered on Thursday and the FIR runs into 42 pages. The charges, sources of police added, suggested the woman’s torture was part of a racket.
Since many influential people involved in the case as per the reports suggest. Police registered a 42 page FIR and started the investigation. In November last year, the gang rape and murder of a 27-year-old vet in the southern city of Hyderabad also made global headlines and triggered protests.
