A horrific incident has shaken the entire Shringaar Nagar colony of Ettah where a family of five were found dead on Saturday morning. The reason is being unknown and termed as “mysterious circumstances”.
The deceased are identified as Rajeshwari Pachauri (75), a retired clerk of the health department, his daughter in law Divya Pachauri (33), his daughter in law’s sister Bulbul (25) and his two grandsons Aarush and Aarav aged (10) and (1).
The shreds of evidence after the investigation by the forensic team claims that no forced entry was made inside the house. Instead, the police got items like a toilet cleaner bottle, sachet of sulphas, and blood stained sharp edge blade lying on the ground.
The police used a gas cutter to break the main gate in order to enter the house.
The Police source said, “As soon as we entered inside the house, Divya’s body was found lying on a cot closed to the entrance gate. Her left wrist was slit with a blade. Her father in law Rjeshwari was found dead lying on the blood-soaked bed which was in the living area, while Divya’s sister Bulbul was found dead on a cot on the first floor with ligature marks on her neck. The bodies of the two children were on the first floor inside the bedroom with mouths filled with foam and blood.”
Ashok Kumar, station house officer Kotwali, Etah said, “The first information to police was shared by victim’s neighbour Alok Tiwari, who is an Advocate. After this, a milk delivery woman alerted about Divya’s body to the police as none of the family members were opening the doors even after persistent knocks.”
The police revealed that post autopsy, all five bodies have been handed over to Diwakar Pachauri the husband of deceased Divya, who works in a pharmaceutical company based in Roorkee.
Later the confirmation of the police came that four of them had poisoned substances in their bodies while the infant who was a year old was smothered to death.
