Miss India 2016 finalist Aishwarya Sheoran cracked UPSC CSE exam securing 93rd rank all over India. She is getting all praises for breaking the stereotype against beautiful women. Her story is an inspiration showing that no matter how different or difficult your dreams are, if you are ready to work for them they are valid.

23- year old Aishwarya Sheoran has a good modelling career as she has walked for Manish Malhotra and has been model at Bombay Times Fashion Week, Lakme Fashion Week, Amazon Fashion Week. For her civil services studies she took a break from her modelling career moreover she has been inactive on social media since 2018. While modelling is her hobby she describes civil service as her true passion.

I always wanted to be a civil servant. I did modelling as a hobby. At that age, I wanted to explore so many things. I was the head girl in my school and, in college too, I was an active member of the debate society and participated in the social service, et al. In the beauty contest, I was noticed by prominent designers like Manish Malhotra who encouraged me to participate in fashion shows. Once I returned to Delhi, I was flooded with offers. The thrill of walking on the ramp kept me going for over a year-and-half. However, as I am a nerd, I wanted to return to my first love — academics,  said Sheoran.

Sheoran has always been drawn to the academics. She was excellent student at her school, she scored 97.5 per cent in her CBSE class 12th exam moreover she was Head Girl at her school as well which provided her the opportunity to meet the social workers that came to her school providing her an opportunity to know about the social issues and have a closer view at them which ultimately kindled her interest in civil services. She cracked Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2017 and secured a seat at IIM-Indore but she did not persue management as she was seeking a different goal.

The DU graduate persued science stream with economics in class 12 and has been doing a lot of self study.  I religiously followed online study material from two-three websites and participated in their mock series. The thumb rule was one topic for one book. While many think that the syllabus is wide, I believe CSE is not tough if you narrow down your books. Like for polity, it was Laxmikant that I followed on. Besides for current affairs, I relied on three ed-tech websites and newspapers, she said.

Miss India pageant celebrated her success with a post for her on their Twitter handle.

Aishwarya Sheoran, Femina Miss India 2016 finalist, Campus Princess Delhi 2016, Freshface winner Delhi 2015 made us immensely proud as she scored the All India Rank 93 in the Civil Services Examination. A huge congratulations to her on this achievement!#AishwaryaSheoran #CSE pic.twitter.com/SrDu4iK6T0

Aishwarya’s father Colonel Ajay Kumar is the Commanding Officer of NCC Telangana Battalion Karimnagar so it would be fair to say that she learned the importance of social service from her household as well. With her commitment and dedication to her dreams she has certainly become an inspiration for many.

People like Aishwarya are truly extraordinarily talented and enthusiastic and we salute such women.
