France’s largest Carmaker, Groupe PSA had revealed in 2016 that it will make a comeback to the Indian Market. PSA Group Revealed that its return to the Indian market will be led by its Citroen brand. Now, Things are coming in shape for PSA Groupe as they are Launching their first car Citroen C5 Aircross SUV to our Market and work are already in progress at their plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, DS7 Crossback SUV was spotted testing in India last year.
What is the PSA Group?
In December 1974 Peugeot S.A. acquired a 38.2% share of Citroën. On 9 April 1976, they increased their stake of the then bankrupt company to 89.95%, thus creating the PSA Group (where PSA is short for Peugeot Société Anonyme), becoming PSA Peugeot Citroën.

Citroen C5 Airports: Dimensions
4500 mm in length, 1840 mm in width, 1670 mm in height and 2730 mm in wheelbase length, the Citroen is 105 mm longer, 22 mm in wider, 13 mm taller than its direct rival Jeep Compass (India Bound).
Citroen C5 Aircross: Interior
The moment you enter the car, you will witness a plethora of AC vents around the dashboard which makes it centerpiece if the cabin along with the multifunctional flat-bottom steering wheel which consists of volume rockers, call answering and rejecting button, Cruze Control, and whatnot. There are plenty of features on offer, too, with the SUV, including safety kit like multiple airbags, blind spot assist, smart headlamps with an auto high beam feature, attention assist, cross-traffic detection, and hill-hold assist, among others. The interiors also feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an automatic AC, steering-mounted buttons, and a digital instrument binnacle.
Citroen C5 Aircross: Engine
Internationally, Citroen offers the C5 Aircross with a petrol motor and two diesel engine options- a 130 hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol; a 130 hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel; and a 180 hp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. But, for the Indian market, there will be 2.0 litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine to our market mated to an 8-speed torque converter AMT gearbox. And 1.5-litre engine said to be launched but not confirmed yet because the brand believes that a bigger engine with the best performance can lead the brand upward.
Citroen C5 Aircross: India launch
Citroen had originally planned to launch the C5 Aircross towards the end of the year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the India launch has been shifted to the first quarter of 2021. The C5 Aircross will fight against Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Elantra with prices likely around 30 lakhs.
