While many of us complain about our struggle and resources that are not available, in the same parallel world there are few who refuse to give up and gather all their courage to fight back.

Dhananjay Kumar is one such person, The wish to see his wife become a school teacher inspired Kumar to undertake the arduous journey, who took the challenge and drove over 1,200 km on a scooter with his pregnant wife so that she could appear for a DEd exam conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board (representation). Dhananjay was a cook with a caterer, because of the COVID-19 lockdown, he lost his job about three months ago.
Due to coronavirus-induced lockdown, the trains and buses are still not operational. Left with no other choice, the couple opted for a scooter ride. Dhananjay could not afford to see his wife, who is six months pregnant to miss her exam. The couple arrived on August 30 for a DEd exam.
Dhananjay told, “The examination was important for us. I have not studied beyond Class X. I did not want my wife to lose out the opportunity to achieve the educational feat she wanted. It made both of us decide to undertake the audacious journey keeping all our health issues aside,” “If I had hired a taxi to come to Gwalior it would have cost Rs 30,000, which was a big amount for me. Whatever little jewels we have, we have mortgaged them to raise Rs 10,000”.
Soni, wife of Dhananjay said that she will apply for a teaching job in Jharkhand and she is confident that she will get selected for it. The district women empowerment officer provided them with immediate assistance. 5,000 are being paid by the administration and special medical assistance will be provided to the pregnant lady.
