Security forces were engaged in an encounter with hiding militants at Batpora area of Kulgam
A terrorist affiliated with the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) was killed in an anti-militancy operation in south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Monday night.
The terrorist has been identified as Abu Hurarah from Pakistan. “Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including AK rifle, (were) recovered,” Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar said.
Security forces had been engaged in an encounter with hiding militants at Batpora area of Kulgam since Monday evening, according to a police spokesman. One Army soldier and two civilians were injured in the encounter, the police said. All three injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
