The tweet was posted by zealous Kangana on September 20, in which, she was found demeaning farmers who are protesting against farm bills. The actress referred to them as ‘terrorist’, according to Karnataka court.
Following which, a case has been lodged under Sections 44, 108, 153, 153A and 504 of IPC, suggest news reports.
Advocate Ramesh Naik had filed the complaint over Kangana Ranaut’s September 20 message on her twitter account, according to Live Law. Naik in his plea, according to Live Law, alleges that Ranaut’s tweet intends to injure the cause of people who are opposing the farm bills and wantonly gives provocation with intent to cause riots and promote the culture of non-violence in the young minds of society.”
“This posting on the twitter account of the accused may lead to a clash between the people of a different group, believing in different ideology, Naik writes in the plea. It seems that the government authorities have turned a blind eye to the same and does not have any established measures or rules and guidelines to control and regulate the same. On the bare perusal of all these contents, it is more than evident that the government is least bothered and as usual, waiting for some dangerous consequences to happen before taking some appropriate actions,” he mentioned, according to Bar and Bench.
The lone crusader Kangana picked one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s series of tweets where he had reassured farmers that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the government procurement of farmers’ produce will continue after the bills were passed by the Rajya Sabha and wrote, “Prime Minister, if anyone’s sleeping, they can be woken up, if someone doesn’t understand, they can be explained, but what can be done when someone is acting to be asleep or doesn’t want to understand? These are the same terrorists who indulged in bloodshed even when no countryman lost citizenship due to CAA.
Protests have been ongoing, mainly in Haryana and Punjab over the passage of farm Bills. In addition to it, farmers also burned effigies of actress Kangana Ranaut over her foul remark and of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in some part of the country.
Meanwhile, Kangana challenged that she would quit Twitter if it could be proven that she called farmers “terrorists”. The actress clarified in a tweet in Hindi that she did not refer farmers as a terrorist and dared anybody to prove it, only then she will leave twitter and apologize.
