Uttar Pradesh criminal Vikas Dubey was arrested and detained on Thursday morning. he was caught outside the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The criminal was involved in the extensive butchering of eight police personnel, the incident took place on 2nd July. Prabhat Mishra and Bahua Dubey, two aides of gangster Vikas Dubey were killed concurrent to his arrest.
“Main Vikas Dubey hoon, Kanpur wala,” he exclaimed whilst being taken to the police van, as per a CCTV footage.
On 8th July, Vikas Dubey’s accomplice Amar Dubey was encountered and on the same day, CCTV footage from a hotel in Haryana’s Faridabad showed a masked man suspected to be Dubey. However, he fled the premises before the police could capture him.
Vikas Dubey’s mother, Sarla Devi confirmed that he visuals the Ujjain Mahakal Temple every year. It was around 7 a.m. today when he was trying to enter a temple with a ‘Fake ID card’ of a much younger man. He apparently tried to enter through the back gate when a shopkeeper recognised him and alerted the security guards. On being interrogated, he smacked the guards who succeeded to drag him to the police.

When the policemen reached the Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of Kanpur to arrest Vikas Dubey, Dubey and his men, armed with AK-47s, fired from rooftops causing a bloodbath.
“Those who feel that their sins will be dusted by going to the shelter of Mahakal, they have not known Mahakal,” Mr Chouhan tweeted. “Congratulations to the Ujjain police for the arrest of Vikas Dubey,” he said.
“Dubey will be brought to the state on transit remand. Our campaign against all those involved in the Kanpur case will continue till not even a single member of the Dubey gang is left,” ADG, Law and Order Prashant Kumar said. “Stricter punishment will be ensured against Dubey,” he added
“It is a big success for the police, Vikas Dubey was a pitiless executioner. The whole Madhya Pradesh police drive was on alarm. He has been captured from Ujjain Mahakal sanctuary. We have informed Uttar Pradesh Police,” said Narottam Mishra, Madhya Pradesh Minister. Madhya Pradesh Chief Serve Shivraj Singh Chouhan said he was in touch with his UP partner Yogi Adityanath on the capture and the criminal would be given over to the UP police.
‘A big success’ or a ‘successfully staged surrender-arrest’?
