Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address of Nationwide lockdown extension version 2.0 has appreciated the work of scientists, Doctors and medicos for their tremendous dedication towards the country to fight the coronavirus crisis.
The Prime Minister has appealed to the young scientists and researchers to come forward to take a lead in developing the vaccine for the novel Coronavirus that has taken over one lakh lives worldwide and still continues to be a big threat.
" There was only one lab once in India to test COVID-19 samples, but now the testing has been conducted over 220 labs across the nation.
At present India is restricted with limited resources. I have a special request for India's young scientists and researchers that they should come forward and take a lead in developing a vaccine for coronavirus for the welfare of the world, for the welfare of humankind," Prime Minister Modi has said in an address to the nation.
After the coronavirus’ devastating effect in China, the data of its genome has been revealed by the Chinese researchers.
By analyzing that data a number of nations are trying to develop the vaccine. The clinical trials of the vaccine started early in March in Seattle, in the United States.
As animal trials are not allowed in India, that might come as a big challenge for the Indian researchers as well as scientists working towards developing a vaccine for coronavirus.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) said that India will 'definitely' be involved in the trials of the coronavirus vaccine and its manufacturing as well as scaling.
