Who doesn’t know One Direction? It was one of the world’s most popular boy bands. It is rare to see a band take on the world so early in their careers, but 1D knew nothing less than creating records.
The band lasted for about six years and following the hiatus in 2016, the members took on their individual journeys. While a few names might have gotten bigger than the others, none are forgotten. Out of the big names is Niall Horan.
He’s not one of those singers you keep hearing about or around, but you definitely won’t miss out on his songs. On the occasion of his birthday, here’s us celebrating his individual music that needs a little more recognition.
So, here are six songs where Niall truly showed what great potential he has:
1. Our Song – Annie Marie and Niall Horan (Therapy) – 2021
Well, one can be sure that this collaboration will dig out gold and it did. This song has the right notes to make you want to sing along.
No one before this would have thought that these two voices would complement each other in the way that they did. You cannot help but play this song on a karaoke night, or simply whenever you feel like singing to yourself.
2. Black and White (Heartbreak Weather) – 2020
Love songs are everybody’s genre. This song is an ode to all those people who’ve experienced love and don’t want it to ever end. The words of this song would fit any definition of love.
It is one of those songs that are easy on the ears but leave a mark on the heart. One can definitely not miss this one.
3. Put A Little Love On Me (Heartbreak Weather) – 2020
Heartbreak songs are not necessarily a coping mechanism, they are sometimes an attempt to feel and address all the feelings that one was trying really hard to overlook.
This song is exactly what one looks for when trying to fill a void. Your wall of emotions might likely collapse to the soft notes, but sometimes it is what is needed.
4. Finally Free (Smallfoot) – 2018
There are times when you need songs to pull you out of bed and push you a little hard toward getting your dreams, this is one of those songs.
It makes you see all the beautiful things about life and how liberating freedom really is. It is a song that you’d play in your earphones and walk down the streets ready for life to meet at any turn.
5. This Town (Flicker) – 2017
Songs that bring with them a gush of nostalgia are sometimes too big a risk to take but one that you’d take on with a smile on your face.
The lyrics of this song are too beautiful for anyone not to keep listening on a loop. This is one of the classic drive songs that you’d put on and recall all the good times you’ve had.
6. Too Much To Ask (Flicker) – 2017
You know one of those songs that pierce right through your heart and you feel a rush of emotions? Yes, this is precisely the one.
It is definitely a song you would want to come back to after a rough day, or perhaps you’ll play it to yourself at 3 am in the night. It is basically a comfort song.
