1. Drishyam 2 (2021)
Jeethu Joseph’s sequel to the 2013 hit picks up six years after Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family hid a young man’s death. The police reopen the case when a new witness comes forward, and the film builds slowly towards a clever final act.

Drishyam 2 released directly on Amazon Prime Video on 19 February 2021 after a theatrical release could not go ahead in Kerala. It was later remade in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. The third film, Drishyam 3, reached cinemas in May 2026, which has brought fresh viewers back to the first two parts.
2. Joji (2021)
Directed by Dileesh Pothan, Joji is a quiet, unsettling film loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Fahadh Faasil plays the youngest son of a wealthy plantation family in Kerala who is tired of living under his strict father’s control.
When the father falls ill, Joji sees a chance and makes a choice that leads to more lies and more crimes. The tension comes from small moments rather than chases or fights. It premiered on Prime Video on 7 April 2021.
3. Jalsa (2022)
Suresh Triveni’s Hindi film stars Vidya Balan as a respected television journalist and Shefali Shah as her cook. A hit-and-run accident late one night connects the two women, and the journalist’s attempt to cover it up tests everyone around her.
Jalsa is less about who did it and more about guilt, class and power. Both lead performances were widely praised. The film released on Prime Video on 18 March 2022, with Manav Kaul and Rohini Hattangadi in supporting roles.
4. Saltburn (2023)
Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn follows Oliver (Barry Keoghan), a scholarship student at Oxford who becomes fixated on his rich classmate Felix (Jacob Elordi). Felix invites him to spend the summer at his family’s huge country estate, and things turn strange very quickly.
It is a dark psychological thriller with some disturbing scenes, so it is better suited to adult viewers. Amazon MGM Studios distributed the film in the US, and it began streaming on Prime Video on 22 December 2023. Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant co-star.
5. Without Remorse (2021)
Based on a Tom Clancy character, Without Remorse stars Michael B. Jordan as John Kelly, a Navy SEAL who goes after the people responsible for killing his wife and members of his team. Stefano Sollima directs, and Jodie Turner-Smith and Jamie Bell co-star.
