WB Governor slams Mamata over poor governance

West Bengal Governor, Mr Jagdeep Dhankhar has slammed the Mamata Banerjee government for not enforcing lockdown properly. He said that the government and police are unable to implement social distancing norms and curbing religious congregations in the state.

He urged the central government to deploy paramilitary forces in the states to ensure full-proof lockdown and the officials who had ignored protocols shall be relieved of their duties.

“Lockdown protocol has to be thoroughly implemented to ward off coronavirus. Police and administration @MamtaOfficial failing to effect 100% #SocialDistancing or curbing religious congregations be shown the door,” Dhankar tweeted.

The governor took to Twitter alleging the chief minister that it's no time to play politics and the state should fall in line with the guidelines that have been set by the Central government. “Its call for action and not reaction.” He added.

Responding to Mr Dhankar, Mr Snehasish Chakraborty, Trinamool Congress spokesperson criticized him and said, “When the state government was preoccupied with managing the entire pandemic situation in the state, Mr Dhankar behaved like a BJP worker and not as the governor of the states”. “The governor has no other work but to try and disturb the state government.” He added.
