Social activist Swami Agnivesh passed away after multi-organ failure on the evening of 11th September. His condition was very critical. A multi-disciplinary team was monitoring his condition. The social activist was admitted to the Institute of Liver and Billary Sciences (ILBS) on Tuesday and has been on a ventilator since then.
The 80-year-old also served as MLA from Haryana. He founded a political party, Arya
Sabha, that was based on the principles of the Arya Samaj in 1970. He was an advocate for dialogue between religions. Many Hindu groups opposed Swami Agnivesh due to his social activism. He was the Chairperson of Bonded Labour Liberation Front Founder and Coordinator, Parliament of All Faiths. Swami was awarded the Right Livelihood Award, known as the Alternative Nobel, in 2004, for his work for social justice. He was often called a cyclonic swami, reflecting his dynamism and the diversity of his activism. He also challenged the RSS chief to debate on Hinduism while attending a state-level convention on religious terrorism and intolerance. He necessitated various areas of social activism including campaigns against female foeticide and the liberation of women.

A prominent figure of Anna Hazare’s campaign India Against Corruption in 2011, he also participated in the famous reality show Bigg-Boss.
The life of Swami Agnivesh is a lesson for many. When we are living in times of intolerance and religious hatred people like Swami Agnivesh are like the lightning lamp of the society.

When he passed away today it also became an epitome of simplicity and greatness he has practiced all his life. The nation will be in debt to such figures. Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with the followers of Swami Agnivesh. We, at TSA, pay tribute to Swami Ji. The nation will always be boasting having amazing spirit and strength.
