Imagine an action movie without a witty, analytical, and iconic antagonist. The movie is sure to be monotonous and boring. Villains are what make the movie energetic. Always one step ahead of the hero until they are eventually beaten by the villain (not always), villains give us some memorable master plans and action scenes. We are most intrigued and hooked by the story between a hero and a villain, and if the villain has a backstory, it makes the movie even more enjoyable.

I believe that playing the role of an antagonist is an exceptionally challenging task. You have to maintain the evil streak, hide or subtly let down the vulnerable side, and bring out the madness needed of a villain. The post is dedicated to some of the best movie villains who have raised the bar of ingenious evil.
