A Satirical blank book named ‘Masterstroke: 420 secrets that helped PM in India’s employment growth!’ has gone viral as a stunt book taking a dig at the prime minister. The sarcastic take, ridiculing PM Modi, has been self publicized on Amazon by a writer going by the name, “Berozgar Bhakt”.
The blank book is priced at Rs 56 and also possesses 56 blank pages. The cost and the page numbers is a dig at the term often used by Modi followers that he has a 56-inch chest. It is not clear whether Amazon itself decided to remove the book or whether the publisher-author deleted it. It is possible to self publish books through the platform.

All the 56 pages of the book are blank with the front cover exhibiting a photo of Narendra Modi.
The author also posted about publishing the book on Reddit, a social media message board forum.
The author later cleared his intentions by telling that he described the book as a joke, one he did not expect to go viral. Not wishing to be identified, he said, “I was going to test how kindle publishing works.So, I thought if I am going to put some effort then I better get some laugh out of it. In morning I saw it got greenlit, and I thought to share this hilarious goof-up by Amazon with fellow Redditors,” and further added, “The idea was just a product of an empty mind of an unemployed person.”
While the vivacious title of the book alone was a giveaway that it was probably not true to the notions directly conveyed by the words on the cover page – ‘420’ is the section of the Indian Penal Code for cheating – hundreds of reviewers also jotted down dedicated comments maintaining the same tension of deadpan humour.
The book presently has a 4.9 rating out of 5 on Amazon.
The book quickly went viral on Twitter with some asserting that Amazon might get banned for allowing it to be publicized. Few users also downloaded the Kindle version of the book to show that the book indeed had only blank pages.

Modi government have come in the face of severe fuss in the light of the Centre’s conduct of the COVID-19 crisis, India’s unanticipated vaccination drive and the hugely luxurious Central Vista project which was greenlit amidst the crisis. And unemployment, particularly, has been at an all-time high.
According to the CMIE, the 30-day moving average unemployment rate as on May 24 was 10.8% all India. For April 2021, it was 7.97%. It went as high as 23.5% and 21.7% in April and May 2020, existing side-by-side with the first phase of the COVID-19 lockdown.
