Dolphin is a common aquatic mammal within the order Cetacea. There are approximately 40 extant species of dolphin. Dolphins are found in different sizes ranging from 1.7-metre-long (5 ft.7 in) long and 50-kilogram (110-pound) to the 9.5 m (31 ft. 2 in) and 10-tonne (11-short-ton).
Sometimes Dolphins even leap about 30 feet (9.1m). They have streamline bodies and are not as flexible as seals are. They have well-developed hearing power and because of this they can reach their prey and dive underwater to deep depths even if they cannot see anything. Dolphins are widespread and are seen to prefer warmer water of tropic zones and some also prefer cold climates.
Dolphins exhibit different kinds of vocalizations, in the form of whistles and clicks. This is how they express themselves and communicate with other members of their species. Many species of Dolphin exhibit Sexual Dimorphism and the male dolphins are bigger than the female ones.
