But you do not have to worry about any of it. We might not have any control over the climate but we can surely prepare ourselves for any worst case scenario. So here are 6 things that you must carry while trekking so you don’t have to worry later.

1. Trekking Shoes

One of the most important things to pack before trekking is a good pair of trekking or hiking boots. The quality, comfort and protection offered by these shoes are far better than any other footwear option and it is more important than any other trekking gears as well. These boots will help you in any terrain that you will come across while trekking and will give you a firm grip on slippery surfaces. It is also recommended that you must invest in a good pair of trekking boots that is light, warm and comfortable.

2. Water bottle

A water bottle is one of the most precious things during a trek or any hiking trip. When you are hiking, your body dehydrates, but most times, due to cold or cool temperatures, you do not realize you are sweating. Hence, sipping water from your bottle frequently will keep you hydrated. Carry a bottle that can hold a sufficient amount of water and get it refilled from any natural streams whenever you get a chance. This will also help in reducing the amount of plastic waste that has been increasing in the hills.

3. Backpack with rain cover

A good backpack will help you in keeping your stuff in an organized way on your trek. It will also provide an easy access for your item when in need. Invest in a good backpack that has sufficient space, help you feel light and less sweaty on the back. While buying one, always check for its straps, side pockets and zips etc. Depending on how long you trek, a 40 – 60 litres of a backpack would be sufficient for you.

4. Head torch/ Flashlight

If you are planning for a long trek, a torch or flashlight can be a lifesaver for you. Most of the trekkers underestimate the time it would take to complete the trek and it gets quite dark by the time they plan to return. In such cases a flashlight becomes an essential item to be on your list. A head torch is better as it allows your hands to be free.
