Madhya Pradesh Cheif Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan became the first CM to test positive for the novel coronavirus.
He is likely to get admitted to Chirayu hospital in capital city Bhopal, according to news sources. The ambulance reached his residence at 01:00 pm IST.
Today, at noon, Shivraj Singh Chauhan took to Twitter to announce his covid19 test result.

He has appealed his colleagues, whoever had come in his contact to get their coronavirus tests done. My close contacts must move to quarantine, he writes in the tweet.

His reports came days after Cabinet Minister Arvind Bhadoria, who had attended a Cabinet meeting and had travelled with the CM to Lucknow to attend the funeral of Governor Lalji Tandon earlier this week tested positive for COVID-19.
Daily Covid-19 cases in the country inched closer to the 50,000 mark, with 48,916 fresh cases reported today. The death toll has now mounted to 31,358 as the pandemic’s massive surge continues.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Wednesday night had announced, Bhopal is under the lockdown for 10 days from 8 p.m. on July 24, in the wake of sudden spurt in COVID-19 cases since last 10 days
In a series of tweets, the chief minister said that if detected and treated on time, COVID-19 infection can be cured. “I have been reviewing the status of coronavirus infection in the state every evening since March 25. Now I will try to review the situation through video conferencing as much as possible,” he said.
“I appeal to the people of my state to be careful, just a little carelessness invites Corona. I made every effort to avoid Corona but people used to meet on many subjects”, said CM Chouhan in his tweet.
