Patna Body gives free Oxygen to Covid patients this Pandemic

COVID

Bihar is in the eye of the storm of the Coronavirus outbreak and it is becoming difficult for the health department to provide safe and secure healthcare services to its patients. So, to ease the sufferings of Covid patients, Bihar Pradesh Marwari (Bihar Regional Marwari Conference), took a very inspiring step. They started to give free Oxygen Cylinders to Covid patients who are home quarantined.

Helping others in the time of the pandemic is quite a difficult job, despite all the hurdles in the way, they took this great initiative. They have started an Oxygen Cylinder Bank (OCB) in Patna, through which they provide free of cost Oxygen Cylinders. They work on all working days of the week.

While speaking to The New Indian Express newspaper, regional president of Bihar Marwari Sammelan, Vindo Todi said: “A person in need of an oxygen cylinder for the Covid-19 patient at home isolation can avail the service from this bank after depositing an amount of Rs 5,000 with a copy of Aadhaar card”.

This fee will be refunded at the time of the return of the cylinder.

Todi said: “Only a little amounts are deducted from the security money in case the gas metre or pipe of the cylinder is found damaged. Otherwise, the service is totally free to Covid-19 patients”.

They have the strength of 21 Cylinders, but they have received a new order of 30 Cylinders. Each cylinder carries 100 kg of oxygen and can give patient respiratory support for 6 to 8 days.

Because of the enormous success and a large demand for Cylinders, they are thinking of expanding the service in different parts of the state. As they are currently working in Patna’s Dak Bungalow.
