Putting Pegasus under blame, Apple Inc. on Tuesday filed an elaborate lawsuit against an Israel based cyber firm named NSO group along with its bedrock company OSY Technologies for spying and keeping an eye upon the Apple users of the United States with the instrument of the sad spyware. It moreover goes on to reveal their intentions of blacklisting NSO from making any of the Apple sponsored products, services, or software accessible to them.

Pegasus hacking tool has been put under suspicion by multiple companies and organizations, but in this spree of painting the real picture of Pegasus, Apple Inc. happens to be the latest member that holds it accused of targeting human rights workers and journalists. To add, the US officials have gone on to enumerate NSO under the trade blacklist. Besides Apple Inc, techno-stalwarts like Microsoft Corp, Meta Platforms Inc etc. have also raised similar questions and allegations.

NSO Group has over the years been involved in the circumvention of the security developed for the aforementioned companies and allegedly becoming the facilitator of these hacking ventures to the foreign officials. “Thousands of lives” have been saved through the inception and use of the mentioned spyware says NSO in its defence. It further adds that this facility has been made available only to the governments and law enforcement agencies and that it has made outright efforts to ensure that there has been no misuse, in any regard.

“Paedophiles and terrorists can freely operate in technological safe-havens, and we provide governments with the lawful tools to fight it. NSO Group will continue to advocate for the truth,” stated one of its spokesperson. “Concerted efforts in 2021 to target and attack Apple customers” and that “US citizens have been surveilled by NSO’s spyware on mobile devices that can and do cross international borders,” mentioned Apple Inc. in its detailed complaint launched in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

In order to carry out its highly questionable virtual attacks, says Apple, the NSO Group went on to create hundreds of fake IDs and user credentials. Fortunately, the Apple servers did not end up being hacked in the hands of NSO Group and its allied spyware, but it did manipulate! Withstanding the recent NSO claims that it does involve in carrying out the sale of ‘certain’ services compels Apple Inc. to allege that NSO Group has been actively involved in carrying out the consultation of the data attacks.

Defendants force Apple to engage in a continual arms race: Even as Apple develops solutions and enhances the security of its devices, Defendants are constantly updating their malware and exploits to overcome Apple’s own security upgrades,” adds the Apple spokesperson.

However, no traces have been found regarding the usage or even the mere presence of any of the NSO’s products within the devices using IOS 15, which happens to be its latest version. The Apple cabinet goes on to announce that any damages liquidated under the lawsuit, which nearly amount to be $10 Million, to various cyber-surveillance research groups, with the Citizen Group from the University of Toronto occupying the first spot.
