As the geographic spread of disease forced a complete lockdown of city gates over other cities, citizens of India are anticipated of the lifting of lockdown soon. Reports as per yesterday (i.e. Tuesday,7th April 2020) have 508 new cases registered of COVID-19 within 24 hours.

Simultaneously State officials stepping forward with ICMR to identify hotspots of the deadly virus to deal accordingly.

Joint secretary of the Health Ministry and Family Welfare, Lav Agarwal said during daily briefings, “There is no decision on extending the lockdown as yet. Please avoid speculating about it. Whenever there is a decision in this regard, we will inform you.”

On the other hand, Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh agreed on further lockdown and said, “We will decide after analyzing the circumstances. The lives of people are more important. We can tolerate lockdown. We can resurrect the economy later on but can’t be able to bring back the lives of the people”

Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan also supported the idea of extended lockdown. Whereas, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee reported to give some relaxation period to her citizens.

Also, some economic sectors disagreed on the extension of lockdown as major workers will die of poverty, reported International Labour Organisation (ILO).

However, Wuhan which was an origin of the pandemic which goes off 11 weeks for the lockdown, reopened its first train where 82,000 viruses were confirmed and 3300 deaths occurred.

Therefore, to lift the lockdown can only be decided on the censuses by ICMR and National Disaster Management Authority on the calculative aspects of COVID-19.
