Arnab Goswami has now been compared with Savarkar, the Hindutva icon who sent letters for his release to the British government. During all cycles of the day from February 26, 2020, to April 9, 2020, Goswami aired an apology 280 times on its channel in the UK.

Republic TV was fined 20,000 pounds (19.73 Lakh) on 22nd Dec, by the UK’s communications regulator Office of Communications (OFCOM).
The journalist apologized 280 times to the regulator for broadcasting material that constituted “hate speech”.

The broadcast regulator criticized the views shared on September 6, 2019, by Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami in the “Poochta Hai Bharat” program of the channel, claiming that certain guests breached their broadcasting principles.

According to Ofcom, the apology aired by Arnab’s TV channel stated, “The communications regulator, the Office of Communications, post-viewing the September 6, 2019 episode of Poochta Hai Bharat, found that some offensive words were used in a program which may have disturbed the viewers. Republic Media Network apologizes if those words hurt any religion or particular person.”
Through its notice, Ofcom further ordered that the organization cannot repeat the program and deliver a statement of the conclusions of Ofcom on a date and in a manner to be decided by Ofcom.

India’s Chandryan 2 mission to the Moon on July 22, 2019, and other technological advancements were being discussed in contrast to Pakistan’s achievements.
The program further continued in typical Arnab style hate-mongering and the regulator found it biased and hateful.

In the episode, Ofcom pointed out, the host and a few of his participants shared the opinion that all Pakistani citizens are jihadists, namely that “their scientists, their physicians, their leaders, their politicians are all terrorists.” Even their sportsmen”; “Every kid over there is a jihadist. Each baby is a terrorist”.

Police in Mumbai have also filed a case against Republic TV and its proprietor for speculated tampering with TV ratings.
After the inquiry into the TRP fraud, the CEO of the broadcasting company was arrested concerning the allegation that certain panel TV homes were influenced to watch Republic TV, boost their viewing evaluations.
