Two days after Mamata Banerjee was injured, Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed that the attack on the Chief Minister, during campaigning in Nandigram on 10th March, was premeditated and part of a deep-rooted conspiracy.

While submitting a petition by six TMC MPs to the Election Commission, TMC alleged that the attack on Chief Minister  Banerjee was planned through social media comments by BJP leaders.

“An attempt was made on the life of our chairperson, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, which was pre-planned, though perpetrators failed in their vicious intention”, said TMC senior leaders Prof Sougata Ray, Derek O’Brien, and Kakolivin Ghosh Dastidar in their letter to EC.
