TMC alleges BJP planned to kill Mamata Banerjee
In the letter party alleged that " On 8th March 2021, Dilip Ghosh, BJP state president, had posted a caricature of Ms. Banerjee, depicting she would be hit at Nandigram on his Facebook.
Two days after Mamata Banerjee was injured, Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed that the attack on the Chief Minister, during campaigning in Nandigram on 10th March, was premeditated and part of a deep-rooted conspiracy.
While submitting a petition by six TMC MPs to the Election Commission, TMC alleged that the attack on Chief Minister Banerjee was planned through social media comments by BJP leaders.
“An attempt was made on the life of our chairperson, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, which was pre-planned, though perpetrators failed in their vicious intention”, said TMC senior leaders Prof Sougata Ray, Derek O’Brien, and Kakolivin Ghosh Dastidar in their letter to EC.

Making their proof stronger, TMC mentioned in the letter that ” BJP MP Saumitra Khan replied to a tweet by another MP Babul Supriyo, saying ” kal theke bujhte parbe, bikel panchta’r por” (you will come to know after 5 pm tomorrow)”.
TMC strongly advocated in the letter that these are all the clear indication that something grave was planned by BJP at Nandigram.
On Friday, a BJP delegation led by Union Minister Piyush Goyal and party general secretary Bhupender Yadav met EC officials and demanded an independent inquiry.
“We had asked the EC to make the video of the incident public, and appoint a special observers for high profile seat of Nandigram, where Mamata Banerjee and Lieutenant- turned- BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari will fight against each other” said Bhupender Yadav.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal Chief Secretary as well as it’s general observer and Special Police Observer had been asked by Election Commission to prepare an investigative report on the alleged attack on Mamata.
On Friday evening, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was discharged from Kolkata’s SSKM hospital.
