To provide a safe city to the state’s women, the Uttar Pradesh government is establishing a “Data Analytical Centre” under the women power line 1090, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Wednesday, October 7.
“In order to strengthen the safety measures for women under a safe city, the government is building a Data Analytical Centre under women power line 1090. The government has ordered to implement this as soon as possible,” Additional Chief Secretary said.
He further claimed that the Data Analytical Centre will mark those areas as hot spots where crimes against women will occur. Then, accordingly, police will be deployed in those places.
“The data of crimes against the women will be collected from various sources in this analytical centre and action will be taken accordingly. The hotspot of eve-teasing will be marked, based on which the police will be deployed,” he further added.
The UP government takes this step after it has faced huge criticism for women’s safety in the state, following the Hathras gangrape case.
Last month, a 19-year-old girl had succumbed to her injuries in Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital, after she was allegedly gang-raped by four men. The incident sparked outrage all over the nation and to other countries. The protests against it are still going on.
