The  Civil Services preliminary exam which has been endured to be held on 31 May, might be delayed, Union Minister of State Mr Jitendra Singh has indicated that on Friday in his interview with Doordarshan Channel.

He said" The UPSC is obtaining several queries from the young aspirants daily about the schedule of UPSC – IAS interview and preliminary exam. As it is natural now that till the time the things won't get in check, nothing will be done in and of itself.

The UPSC came up with a circular two days ago, stating that whatever it is will happen after the lockdown that is 3 May they will specify the date, and come up with a decision after lockdown will be elated and ensure the aspirants to provide them sufficient time.”

An official from UPSC stated, “We will examine the situation … We will keep the interests of all candidates in mind."

Every year, over nine lakh candidates do the preparation for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Exam, in which approximately, 700-800 candidates get selected every year for the 20-plus civil services post that includes officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), India Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) etc. Let's see how things turn out for the applicants this year.
