The Uttar Pradesh government has now started planning to send back 10,000 students who were staying in Allahabad and studying in Allahabad University, other colleges and coaching centres, back to their native state’s districts. 300 Buses will be used for this. Almost 50 buses have departed from Allahabad and that process will continue today and tomorrow.  There will be a proper health check-up for students, who will board the bus.

UP’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Information) Awanish Awasthi told reporters that, “Only after the health check-up, the students will be allowed to board the bus. And Once they reach their destination, another health check-up would be done.”

The buses from Allahabad would drop students to Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Fatehpur and Chitrakoot districts with borders close to Prayagraj.

This isn’t the first time that the Uttar Pradesh government is doing such a thing, they have sent buses in the past to bring back students from Kota.

The Chief Secretary further added, “People who are coming from other states will have to go in quarantine for 14-days at shelter homes in the states.

There have been 12,000 migrant labourers arriving in U.P. from Haryana late Monday night, and have been kept in quarantine. There is also a discussion going on to bring back UP workers from other states.”

While talking about the facilitation and preparation to bring back the labourers who are stranded in other states. He said that the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has instructed to publicise that whoever person is interested in coming back to UP, is advised to contact their respective district’s administration in other states and report at quarantine centres so that their medical examination can be done. And then they will be brought back from the quarantine centers.”

People who are coming to Uttar Pradesh from other states will have to go through the pool testing procedure for COVID-19 infection.

As per Awasthi, The UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has also asked officials to take an Oath that they will break the corona transmission.

On Tuesday, Despite all of that Yogi Adityanath had video-conferencing with the Students who came back from Kota regarding the planning of their studies without crossing borders.

We really appreciate this act of generosity done by the CM of Uttar Pradesh and addressing the labourers’ need of coming back home, unlike last time. We also hope that we all will overcome this decisive period of the pandemic and will move on to our regular lives, studies, jobs, and other livelihoods ASAP.

Till then please be at home, eat healthily, and stay indoors, stay safe.

Because as they rightly say, your safety is in your hands.
