The US spy agency announced on Friday that it is difficult to identify the origin of the CORONAvirus. It is a pathway from animals to the human area, or that China creates harm to the world.
In August, when the Joe Biden administration announced a declassified report, which was an update based on a 90-day review.
It was mentioned here that the intelligence community will remember dividing on the most likely origin of the virus. Four agencies assessed it with “low confidence” that it had originated from an infected animal or any other related virus.
But one agency said it had “moderate confidence” that the first human infection was the result of a laboratory accident. It would have possibly affected the experiments or animal handling by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
But some US spy agencies believe that the virus originated from nature. But there has been little analysis. Over the last months, the virus has spread widely and naturally among wild animals.
The news also explained how Chinese officials were ignorant of the existence of the virus before the initial outbreak of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan, in late 2019.
However, it explained China was continuing to hinder the global analysis and to avoid sharing data.
In May, US President Biden ordered intelligence officials to investigate the virus’s origins- including the lab leak theory, which was rejected by China.
In the update on the virus, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said an animal-to-human transmission and a lab leak were both plausible hypotheses for how it had spread. But it announced that the analyst disagrees on which is more likely, or whether any imperfect assessment can be made at all.
On Friday, China criticized the statements.
In the email, China announced that “The US move to rely on its intelligence apparatus instead of scientists to trace the origins of Covid-19 is a complete political farce,” said Liu Pengyu, a spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in Washington.
“… It will only undermine science-based origins studies and hinder the global effort to find the source of the virus,” the statement said.
Moreover, Chinese officials were unaware of the existence of the virus before the initial outbreak of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan, in late 2019. But it said China was continuing to hinder the global investigation and to resist sharing information.
China is encountering international criticism for failing to cooperate, targeted entirely based on investigations into Covid-19’s origins.
The embassy statement also dismissed that criticism. “We have been supporting science-based efforts on origins tracing, and will continue to stay actively engaged. That said, we firmly oppose attempts to politicize this issue,” it said.
By the world meter statement of corona cases, almost 240 million cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed around the world, with more than 4.9 million deaths.
