Thousands of supporters gathered outside the Capitol Hill in favor of US President Donald Trump in Washington DC on Wednesday, stormed into the Capitol Building. Reuters stated that rioters forced themselves towards the metal security barricades, broke windows, and climb off the wall to get inside the Capitol building.
Vincent Xavier who was recognized as the person who was holding an Indian Flag posted a tweet himself tagging Shashi Tharoor and Varun Gandhi. He had posted Facebook photos and videos of him participating in the riots at US Capitol, tweeted: “American patriots – Vietnamese, Indian, Korean & Iranian origins, & from so many other nations & races, who believe massive voter fraud has happened joined rally yesterday in solidarity with Trump. Peaceful protestors who were exercising our rights!”
Shortly some people on Twitter start claiming that Mr. Xavier is a supporter of Mr. Tharoor, and also claimed that they had recently met in Washington DC while sharing their various pictures.
To take a jab at this incident, Mr. Gandhi had posted these pictures while questioning Mr. Tharoor.
According to few surveys it has been stated that the majority of Indio-Americans support the Democratic Party, but there are few speculations also that some Indo-Americans support Trump over his terms.
However, according to the data released by the 2020 Asian American Voter Survey, almost 65% of Indo-Americans had shown their support for Biden. Another survey had even put a higher number.
