Anime is a fantastic medium with no boundaries in terms of quality or imagination. Indeed, many artists from all over the world attribute their interest in art to watching anime as a child. While hardly every anime features stunning animation, those that do often leave viewers speechless.

This is particularly true of the great Ghibli films, which have long been renowned for their stunning visuals and inspiring stories. However, there is a slew of other anime with stunning animation, and the list below highlights just a few that elevate the medium to new heights.

Table of Contents
  • 1. Hyouka
  • 2. Sound Euphonium
  • 3. Death Parade
  • 4. Bakemonogatari
  • 5. No Game No Life
  • 6. Wonder Egg Priority
  • 7. A Place Further Than The Universe
  • 8. Land of the Lustrous
  • 9. Beyond The Boundary

1. Hyouka

Kyoto Animation has done it yet again with this stunning series. The show has a character who is a laid-back, lazy guy who is intelligent but wants to be alone. The inquisitive young lady. The straightforward personality. The modest man who considers himself “average.” Even if it means “creating up” puzzles on the fly, all four characters work together to solve problems. To provide them with an excuse to fix a problem. It’s a thought-provoking show in its own right, with each character contributing their unique “flavour” to the plot.

2. Sound Euphonium

Kumiko, a junior high school brass band member, pays a visit to the high school brass band club with her classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she runs across Reina, a former junior high classmate. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, while Kumiko is undecided. She recalls her encounter with Reina at a junior high school tournament.

3. Death Parade

Death Parade is one of those rare shows that can’t be duplicated. Not only is it visually amazing, but the concept itself appears to be new and inventive. As you might imagine from a drama about death and what follows after it, there are some rather gloomy hues and morbid scenes in the programme. However, the anime as a whole has a jazzy vibe to it, with bright and flashy games, an upbeat beginning, and character designs that are genuinely out of this world. We enjoy the show because it feels like an optimistic existential crisis.

4. Bakemonogatari

Bakemonogatari is another animation produced by Studio Shaft, based on the same-named light book series. The unusual graphics, like Madoka, aid in the progression of the plot by creating a world that is unfamiliar to viewers while still being visually beautiful. To chisel out the strange and amazing occurrences occurring around Araragi, this story largely focuses on a marriage of visual imagery and world play.

5. No Game No Life

There will be no game. No Life is a master at using brilliant colours to depict a world that is both similar and fundamentally distinct from our own. For this show, monochrome is a myth. And each character design exudes creativity and style. And if a huge conflict is about to begin, this is reinforced even more clearly, yet you can never predict what will happen. The opening scene, in which Sora and Shiro plummet towards their new house, exemplifies the amount of work that went into developing this animation. And we believe it deserves praise for it.

6. Wonder Egg Priority

CloverWorks has released a new animation called Wonder Egg Priority. The anime is brightly coloured, which contrasts with the serious subjects it addresses, such as the suicide of the main character Ai’s best friend, which occurs before the programme begins. The females in the show are portrayed via their various levels of trauma, and the scenes appear as they came straight out of a big-budget anime movie thanks to the high-quality animation.

7. A Place Further Than The Universe

Beautiful vistas have been highlighted several times in this text. However, A Place Further Than The Universe takes the cake in this category for us. It’s all about a huge journey to the farthest reaches of the Earth, and its cute characters must navigate a variety of terrain. The spirit of adventure, discovery, and fun is the sole constant throughout the show. This is the kind of show that has such a contagious charm that it can lift you out of even the worst of moods.

8. Land of the Lustrous

Most aesthetic Anime to watch

Studio Orange created the animated series Land of the Lustrous. The show was popular with anime viewers because it masterfully combined 3D animation to create a gorgeous universe, and it was based on a manga of the same name. The plot revolves around Phos, a frail gem who only wants to help his allies battle in the current war.

9. Beyond The Boundary

Mirai Kuriyama, who has the ability to turn her blood into weapons, is the protagonist of this supernatural/slice of life novel. It’s beautiful not just because of the animation, but also because of the scenery, detail, and action scenes. Soft pastels and deeper tones are used to embellish many gentler, emotional scenes. Brighter colours appear within the blackness as the action begins. The colours and motion add a degree of depth to the story, which is already engaging.
