According to TRG Datacenters, around 4.8 billion people use some form of social media. Considering that this number is 92.7 per cent of the total internet users, the situation tells us about our dependence on social media. The report even revealed that on average people spend 2 hours and 24 minutes on social networks every single day.
Many online users are now realising the psychological changes that can happen because of the high smartphone usage and they are looking for ways to improve this. The data shows that Instagram was the most deleted app in 2023. Snapchat, Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Tiktok were the other apps to follow. As compared to these apps, the numbers for WhatsApp and WeChat are fairly less. Threads which was launched by Meta in 2023 saw a whopping 100 million users just in five days but it has experienced an 80% drop in daily active users since the launch.
