On Wednesday Motorola launched two new smartphones named Motorola Edge and Edge Plus. These two smartphones are offering premium features to compete with other brands. The Motorola Edge Plus has the same price as the Samsung Galaxy S20, the same screen size as the Galaxy S20 Plus and the same 5000 mAh battery and 108-megapixel camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Let’s take a look at the specification of both the phones. Motorola describing them as its “fastest, loudest, boldest” smartphones, ever to be launched.
1- Motorola Edge Plus
The most important part of this smartphone is that it comes with the feature of a 5G network. This phone runs on the Android 10 operating system powered by Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585) processor. It runs on top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The screen size of the phone is 6.7 inches OLED display with 1080×2340 pixels resolution and 385 PPI density. This phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and the refresh rate of the phone is 90 Hz. It has a selfie camera of 25MP and a triple rear camera of 108MP+16MP+8MP with features like Auto Flash, Digital zoom, Touch to focus, and Face detection. Motorola has equipped its top of the line smartphone with an optically stabilised 108-megapixel main camera in comparison to digitally stabilization with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8-micron pixel size. The main camera of Motorola Edge+ is capable of recording 6K videos at 30fps. To increase its capabilities in the camera it is assisted by a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 117-degree field of view. The third camera comes with the 8-megapixel telephoto camera that has OIS support and provides a 3x optical zoom output. Motorola has also provided a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. There is a 25-megapixel camera on the front with a f/2.0 aperture and 0.9-micron pixel size. The phone comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage pack with 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging,15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. It comes with USB type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and comes a with single sim slot. The price of this phone is likely to be around ₹76000 with colour options like Thunder Grey and Smokey Sangria.
2-Motorola Edge
In many ways, the Motorola Edge is fundamentally the same phone with the same display as the Edge Plus, Instead of a Snapdragon 865 found in the Edge Plus. It offers its 700 series Chipset which is not top of the line Chipset. It has a Snapdragon 765 processor. Instead of a 5000 mAh battery, as we have seen in Motorola Edge+, it has a 4500 mAh battery, and instead of a 108MP main camera, it has a 64MP main camera. Motorola Edge and Edge+ comes with dual stereo speakers tuned by Waves.
This phone also runs on the Android 10 operating system powered by Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime and 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold and 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver) processor. The rear camera setup of this phone is 64MP+8MP+16MP with a selfie camera of 25MP. Motorola Edge comes with 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and OIS support, second camera 16MP sensor with f/2.2 wide-angle aperture lens. Lastly, there is an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. Time of Flight (ToF) sensor on the back is also part of the new series. It comes in two variants, the first one is 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and the second one is 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage which is also expandable via MicroSD card. The price of this phone is expected around ₹50000 comes with colour options like Solar Black and Midnight Magenta.
