To pursue a technical career, it is now critical for young tech workers to have a basic grasp of programming languages. GitHub is a live illustration of the expanding programming languages and software development sector.
Because of the cutting-edge programming languages used by current developers, the software development business has grown in prominence as a platform for new developers to learn about programming languages.
We’ve compiled a list of the top programming languages used by Github Contributors
1. Java
Java is one of the most popular programming languages among Github contributors. It is a programming language that may be used for a variety of purposes.

Because of its Write Once, Run Anywhere characteristics, its object-oriented structure has become a common foundation for cross-platform programs.
2. Javascript
JavaScript is a widely used programming language. According to statistics, almost 4 million developers joined this community, displaying the fastest growth rate among all programming languages.
In the software development environment, JavaScript remains a desirable programming language.
3. Python
Python is currently one of the most popular programming languages.
It is a free and open-source programming language with substantial support modules and community development, a simple interface with online services, user-friendly data structures, and a number of other notable features.
4. TypeScript
TypeScript is one of the most rapidly evolving programming languages.
Its behavior is quite similar to that of JavaScript, although it includes extra capabilities such as enumeration types and floating integers.
5. C++
C++ is an improved version of C and one of the most popular programming languages among Github contributors.
It can construct operating systems, games, and much more, which is why it is one of the most widely used languages, with its performance ranking increasing since last year.
6. Ruby
Ruby was created with the intention of having a more human-friendly syntax while being versatile in terms of object-oriented architecture, enabling procedural and functional programming notation.
Because of the features given by this programming language, numerous of its users have referred to it as beginner-friendly.
7. C
C is one of the earliest programming languages and serves as the foundation for many others, including C#, Java, and JavaScript.
It is used to create a variety of applications, including database generation and construction, compiler development, and IoT application development.
8. Kotlin
Kotlin is a general-purpose programming language that supports functional programming languages and is very compatible with Java.
The language is widely utilized in the creation of Android apps, as well as online, desktop, and server-side applications. Kotlin was designed to be a more prominent choice.
9. Dart
Dart is a client-side programming language that may run on a variety of platforms.
It is a popular object-oriented, class-based, garbage-collected language with C-style syntax among young developers.
10. PHP
PHP, with its easy syntax, offers a robust ecosystem of resources for developers on GitHub. PHP is an abbreviation for Hypertext Preprocessor, which is a server-side programming language.
This GitHub programming language is complex enough to run on huge social networks, and the files include text, HTML, JavaScript, and PHP code.
It aids in the generation of dynamic page content, the collection of form input, and the encryption of data.
CONCLUSION
In 2012, Microsoft published the programming language for the first time. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the scripting language.
The language’s popularity has increased because it meets the demand of JavaScript developers for type safety. This is all you need to know about the top programming languages used by Github Contributors.
TypeScript surpassed PHP as the third most popular language on GitHub in mid-2019. The programming language has become critical for Deno, which is regarded as a successor to Node.JS, the omnipresent JavaScript runtime outside of a browser. Deno, which is powered by Rust, employs Google’s V8 engine.
