The first case of covid in Saudi Arabia was found on 2nd March 2020, till now over 7.65 lakh cases had been found in Saudi Arabia. They did however control the virus precariously during the pandemic which resulted in the possible outcome of a low death count of less than 10 thousand in the country. While it again reached its peak during January this year, it has been in decline since then until this week.
On May 23, the covid cases in Saudi Arabia crossed over 600. Leading their health department to plan to make sure the virus doesn’t bring another chaos to their country. WHO’s opinion about the covid endemic
It was mentioned by the TSA that the world health organisation finds the decline a positive result yet we shouldn’t lower our guard during times like this. WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom mentioned that “declining test and sequencing means we are binding ourselves to the evolution of the virus.”
With cases still spreading the countries and their citizens need to take certain measures to stop the further spreading of the virus. Struggles might happen due to the ban on travelling to the mentioned countries but it might also help in reducing, creating, and spreading new evolution of the virus,
The status of the monkeypox virus in Saudi,
While we are moving towards the endemic of covid, the monkeypox virus started spreading around the world.
Saudi health minister Abdullah Asiri assured the public that so far 0 cases of monkeypox have been found in Saudi and even if there are symptoms shown in their citizens, they are capable of monitoring the country and preventing the spreading of the monkeypox virus within the country.
He added that “until now, cases of transmission between humans are very limited, and therefore the possibility of any outbreaks occurring from it, even in countries that have detected the cases, are very low.”
WHO announced the recent cases of monkeypox are over 219. And has spread to around 21 countries. This news proves that it is necessary for every nation to take precautions to prevent another outbreak.
