SSR Alleged Suicide Case: Supreme court orders a CBI probe.

The Supreme Court has finally ordered a CBI probe on the Sushant Singh Rajput case, asking Maharashtra govt to assist in the investigation.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case is now under the CBI. the supreme court has declared today and asked the Mumbai police to hand over all the documents, evidence to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court clearly mentioned that the case registered by Sushant’s father is Patna is correct, “senior advocate Vikas Singh told media persons.” The court also added that the Bihar government had all the right to refer the Patna FIR lodged by Sushant’s father to CBI.

The Supreme court confirmed that there was no confusion about CBI being the sole authority to probe the mystery behind Sushant’s suicidal death and also mentioned that no other state police could interfere with it. The court further referred that since the Mumbai police had registered only the death report for Sushant’s death, it had limited investigation powers. Whereas Bihar police registered a full-fledged FIR which already mentions to CBI. Thus, the central agency should probe the case.

As per the statement, given by the lawyer Satish Mane Shinde of actor Rhea Chakroborty, “Rhea will appear and face the investigation by the CBI as she has done earlier with the Mumbai Police. She maintains that the truth will remain the same whichever agency investigates the case.

Reacting to the verdict, Sushant’s lawyer Vikas Singh said “This is a victory for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. Supreme court lead on all points in our favour. The Court also clearly said that the FIR registered at Patna was correct,” ANI quoted Vikas Singh as saying.

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey also expressed his happiness over the judgment and said “I am very happy. The Supreme Court’s order has strengthened the trust people have in the Court and has assured the nation that justice will be delivered…Today’s verdict has proved that Bihar Police was correct. The way Mumbai Police behaved was illegal,” DGP told ANI.

On August 5, the Supreme Court had taken up Chakraborty’s petition, saying “whether there is any criminal offense in the situation, then it is the matter to be an investigation. “Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, aged 34, was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in Bandra in Mumbai on June 14, 2020.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, “The Supreme Court verdict has come, once we receive a copy of the order, we will comment on it.”

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, “I welcome the Supreme Court verdict recommending CBI probe in the case. This is a victory for justice. On 30th June, we had demanded a CBI probe.
Apart, from Politicians, and family members, Sushant’s friends, and co-actors have also commented and twittered after the Supreme Court verdict.
