Dubai is one of the few places where you can skydive over a city. Skydive Dubai runs tandem jumps from its Palm Dropzone and also has a Desert Campus. From the air, the Palm Jumeirah looks exactly as designed: a palm tree with a trunk, fronds and an outer crescent of resorts, set in the Persian Gulf. Construction began in 2001. 2. Interlaken, Switzerland
Interlaken sits between two glacier lakes, Thun and Brienz, below some of the best-known peaks in the Alps. Skydive Interlaken flies tandem jumpers up by helicopter, which it says is the only practical way to move through the valleys and peaks. Jumps from Interlaken leave from about 14,000 feet.
During freefall, you get a view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, followed by a parachute ride of 5 to 8 minutes. The operator lists the Interlaken helicopter jump at CHF 490, and a Lauterbrunnen valley jump from up to 14,500 feet at CHF 540.
3. Fox Glacier, New Zealand
New Zealand is often called a capital of adventure sports, and Fox Glacier on the South Island’s West Coast is one of its most scenic drop zones. The glacier lies in Westland Tai Poutini National Park and descends from the Southern Alps toward the coast.
From the plane, you can see ice, rainforest and the Tasman Sea at once. The glacier is retreating, though. It measured about 11.7 km in 2022, its shortest recorded length, after losing 374 m between 2017 and 2022. Seeing it from above is a reminder of how fast glaciers are changing.
4. North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii

5. North Wollongong Beach, Australia
