The author is speaking about the various events of the past as well as of those that reminded him of his childhood during the lockdown. Ruskin Bond is trying to motivate the people about a way to live a happy life by cherishing all the small events and memories of life.

Ruskin Bond has explained and described his love for the tomatoes and the story of the blood-red apples. Also, he has connected this story to his likeness towards these tomatoes and how his grandmother used to make sure that he eats everything on his plate.

Further, he has tried to explain the importance of the sensual writer and has aligned these thoughts with the sensuality of the fruits and their taste. He has also stated how only a few writers have possessed the gift of sensuality. According to him apart from the few short stories written by AE Coppard and HE Bates no other novelist content the quality of sensuality.

He has also shared some of his events for the lockdown and how the scarcity of different things has affected his working and life patterns slightly in the wake of the pandemic. This book of his is more inclined towards making people aware of the small joys and gratefulness of life and how these small moments affect life.
