After the sensational final of last season, the Jupiler Pro League 2023/2024 promises to be one of the most interesting and intriguing leagues on the European football scene. The fans have not yet forgotten what happened last year, with the unexpected victory of Royal Antwerp, who had been crowned Belgian Champion after 66 very long years of fasting, in which the people of Antwerp had always dreamed of that moment.
The team coached by former Dutch player, Mark van Bommel, won the title thanks to the incredible goal of Toby Alderweireld, the predestined. The boy born and raised in the city in the last second of the match against Genk found the sensational goal, which in the 94th minute gave Antwerp an Oscar victory.

The new season of the Belgian championship, which began last July 28, saw Antwerp’s winning debut with a 1-0 home win against Cercle Brugge. On the second day, however, the reigning champions ran into a defeat, perhaps unexpected, on the field of Anderlecht, who won 1-0.
And if Anderlecht could give Antwerp a hard time to win the title, Club Brugge will also have to say something this year. After the draw on the first day of the Jupiler Pro League against Mechelen, Brugge found victory on the second day, at KVC Westerlo, beaten 1-0.
And right in the first two games the new acquisition, the Brazilian attacker taken from Ludogorest, bought by Club Bruges for a figure close to 8 million euros, immediately showed off. The Brazilian scored his first goal of the season from a penalty kick, only to repeat himself on matchday two with a goal earning all three points. In terms of the market, the purchase of central defender Hugo Vetlese from Bodø/Glimt is also fundamental. The Norwegian defender went to reinforce a department that conceded too many goals last year, compromising Club Bruges’ path in the league.
Speaking of transfer market, Royal Antwerp also strengthened its attack by purchasing the striker born in Lagos but of French nationality from Lige 2, George Ilenikhena, who arrived for 6 million euros from Amiens. The reigning champions did not want to upset the Belgium champion squad to maintain the winning balance that led them to the title last year.
In terms of odds, sports betting on the winner of the Jupiler Pro League 2023-24 is exciting and bettors will really indulge in making their lucky bet. For the Jupiler Pro League final victory Club Bruges is quoted at 7/4, while Royal Antwerp’s odds are at 16/5. The other contenders for the title could be Genk with a quote of 11/02, Union Saint-Gilloise with 7/1 and Anderlecht with a quote of 14/1.
The reigning champions of Royal Antwerp will absolutely want to confirm themselves to open a winning cycle. Club Bruges is already proud in the standings, but also pay attention to the other teams. The Belgian championship promises strong emotions.
