Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman passed away at the age of 43 and confirmed his family in a statement. The actor was battling colon cancer for the last four years. He succumbed to it yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, with his wife and children by his side.

The actor was diagnosed with stage three cancer back in 2016, which he had never spoken of publicly, as per the words of his family.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said in the statement. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more- all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther”, mentioned his family.

Chadwick’s several co-actors and directors gushed in to mourn the death on twitter after knowing about his demise, among them was US Democrat’s Presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The true power of @ChadwickBoseman was bigger than anything we saw on screen. From the Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, he inspired generations and showed them they can be anything they want — even super heroes. Jill and I are praying for his loved ones at this difficult time.

Marvel Studios that made the character of Black Panther out of Chadwick Boseman also has bid adieu to the actor via Twitter.

Boseman earned a household name as ‘Black Panther’ through Marvel’s 2016 movie, Captain America: The Civil War. His famous character ‘Black Panther’ made a last appearance standing silently at Tony Stark’s funeral in Avengers: Endgame released last year.

He had tweeted last on 12 August on a congratulatory note addressed to Democrat’s Vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris on her nomination.
